New Years Promises

I don't like the word "resolutions". It seems so intense. Dictionary.com defines it as "The state or quality of being resolute; firm determination." Resolution just seems so harsh, and so serious, and everything that I am not.

So I am going to make New Years Promises, instead of resolutions. Promises seem much more personal.

  1. Start a Photography Project. I've talked about this before on this blog, and I have had a hard time deciding what to do, but I think I've finally landed on something. I love girly-ness, and glamour, and pearls, vintage things and 40's fashion. I always have. So I've decided to do a project based on vintage vouge photos. What is more glamourous than that! To make sure that I keep it it, I am making myself do at least one a month. I have one model lined up, if anyone else is interested, let me know....
  2. Cook one new meal a week. This was kind of my New House Resolution, er, Promise, but I haven't been very good at it. I am the most non creative cook in the world, and my skills are very minimal. If you have any good recipes, please do share.
  3. Walk Pete more often. This will be good for me and for pup.
  4. Attend a photography workshop. I have really been lusting after attending a photography workshop. I really want to learn from people who are more experience than I am, and also find a community of photography people to plug in and be encouraged by.
  5. Think more about God. Life gets so busy, so many things that I fill my life with keep me from meditating on things that are bigger than I am. I've been in a time of confusion for a while, I'm ready to at least start thinking about spiritual things again.
Well folks, there it is, my promises for 2010. And what's a post with out a picture! This is from our Annual Progressive Dinner, more of these to come!

  1. 1. Great promises! You can do it!
    2. Is that Cianne? If it is, what a small world.
    3. You can always count me in for a shoot. Sounds so fun! You would have to provide the wardrobe as I am the most UNfashionable gal on the planet.

what if we did one with the boys? We could find like pin stripe suits or something!? Just a thought...maybe SO not what you were invisioning! :)

  2. Haha, the boys in pinstripe is a PRECIOUS idea, but not exactly what I was thinking. But I will take you up on the offer to be a model! And maybe we could dress the boys in pinstripe, too, and have some fun dress up pics of you three!

No Cianne, just Courtney, Staci, Lindsay, Kristen and me :)
